This large tunnel book project was made in the likeness of a submarine window. It rests closed and invites viewers to open the tunnel book and walk through the extruded submarine window. Viewers begin in the outside, unknown ocean before embarking on a journey with play where they break existing art and viewer boundaries by touching and moving the piece itself. As viewers step deeper into the piece and traverse the final panel, the find a cardboard box with toys in it, representing one’s childhood consciousness. Out of site of the world’s judgmental eye, this space indicates to viewers that what was truly stopping them from playing again was in fact this fear of perceived judgement. Viewers must journey back out into the ocean and are encourage to play and face these fears as they crawl through the piece and back into the real world.
