Cultural Campus Center
about
An assignment for my introductory architecture studio, we were tasked to create a SESC-like space in a 100ft by 100ft area underneath an existing concrete canopy that currently houses a flower market in Sao Paolo. The Cultural Campus Center is an immersive space for artistic play. The ground floor has open spaces, creative playgrounds, and various narratively relevant easter eggs throughout the space to promote a sense of play in the arts. As one moves higher in floor, however, resources begin to be more technical and narrow, with reservable individual music practice rooms and more in-depth one-on-one advising compared to the free and open lower floors. In addition, the campus has a theatrical performance space, a visual art gallery, a fashion store, and an experimental kitchen, all of which rotate monthly to highlight different local artist tenants.
